Leave the feature wall blank if you like cautious rooms. This one asks for a little more. Golden ginkgo leaves fan out on a warm reddish-brown shape, held inside a soft pink watercolour wash, and the whole thing lifts a room from tasteful to a bit theatrical. Hang it above a bed, a console or a sideboard where it can be the loudest thing in the room. It sits well with velvet, bouclé, brass fittings, walnut timber and terracotta ceramics. Blush and plaster walls flatter it. Avoid crowding it with other strong florals or busy patterns — this one wants space to hold court.
