This isn't wall filler. It's deep blue with a point of view. Kamisaka Sekka's hydrangea is a botanical study with real composition — broad green leaves, a green bamboo post, and clusters of blooms set against a warm gold ground.

Put it on a wall and the room slows down. The blue pulls colour out of soft furnishings; the gold ground catches the light in the evening and gives a quiet, lamplit warmth without going showy.
